Instead, SenLinYu's 'Alchemised', published by Del Rey and Michael Joseph in September 2025, went to number one on the New York Times list, sold more than a million copies and took the science fiction and fantasy prize at the 2026 British Book Awards. Kirkus called it a doorstopper and meant it fondly.
