The Allahabad High Court has quashed the National Security Act (NSA) detention of 24-year-old Delhi University law student and activist, Akriti Chaudhary, delivering a scathing rebuke of the Noida District Magistrate's conduct in ordering her incarceration. A Bench of Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Achal Sachdev, last week, held that the detention violated Chaudhary's fundamental right under Article 21, finding the order and its grounds "devoid of material" and passed "without application of mind.
