Two Earthquakes Rock Nepal and Tibet in Hours as Flood Death Toll Surges Past
Two earthquakes struck Nepal and Tibet within hours of each other on Tuesday, as the region continues to recover from devastating flash floods that have killed more than 1,300 people. A magnitude 5.0 earthquake hit Nepal at 21:38 local time on Tuesday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). It came hours after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Tibet, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. The Tibet earthquake occurred at a depth of 35km.
