KGH lab detects genetic blood disorders in 78 % samples
Vijayawada: The specialised Centre of Competence (CoC) laboratory at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, has detected genetic haemoglobin disorders in 94 of the 121 blood samples tested during its first three months of operation. The laboratory, the first of its kind in AP, was inaugurated in May to support early detection and treatment of sickle cell disease and thalassemia in tribal areas.
