Just days before the competition started, a record-breaking downpour struck the Japanese host city of Nagoya, forcing hundreds of Asian Games participants to temporarily leave their lodging. On Tuesday, Nagoya received almost 104mm (four inches) of rain in only one hour, prompting local authorities to issue an evacuation order for a portion of the city.
