How local private credit funds pulled ahead of foreign rivals in the mid-market
Domestic funds accounted for about 74% of private-credit deal value and 79% of deal volume in the first half of 2026. The share of global funds plunged to 26% from last year's 68%. Local funds have an advantage in mid-market deals, where local relationships, rupee funding and faster decision-making can matter as much as financing capacity.
